On Facebook we have published a lot of information about us, photos with friends, comments, etc. Of course, we can always show what we want; if at any time we want to stop showing some personal information, we can delete it or hide it. So, in this article we will explain how to hide your birthday on Facebook.
How to hide the birthday on Facebook
The first thing we have to do is access our profile page. For that, we have to click on our name in the top menu.
Once there, we have to look for the “about” button and click it.
Then, a new screen will appear. You will see that there is a sidebar on the left with different options. Select the “Contact and Basic info”.
Now look for the “Basic information” section. You will see that your birthday appears there (date and year).
Edit your basic information
At this time, if you place the cursor over the date, you will see that the blue “edit” button appear. Press it.
As you can see, the following image shows the icon of two people. This means that our birthday is visible to our friends, which means that only they can see it. If instead the icon of the world appears, it means that we have it visible to everyone (including people who do not follow us; who are not our friends in this social network).
That said, this is where we can hide our birthday. What we have to do is click on the icon of the two people (or whatever appears there), and select the option “only me”. With this, we are indicating that we want this information to be only visible to ourselves. This means that no one else will be able to see it. You can do this both to hide the date and the year of birth.
Finally, as shown in the following image, the icon of the two people has changed and now a padlock appears next to the date and next to the year. This is because we have done it correctly. Now, we only have to click the blue button “save changes” to save this new configuration.
We hope we helped you hide your birthday on Facebook. Remember that you can do this with the rest of the information you have on this social network; you decide what you want to show the world.
